Hidden among olive trees on the edge of Saint-Siffret, just a short drive from the honey-coloured streets of Uzès, Villa La Cigale Provençale is the kind of Provençal retreat that makes you instantly slow down. Think long lunches under the pergola, sun-warmed stone beneath your feet, and the steady soundtrack of cicadas drifting through the garden.
Set within 3,600 m² of landscaped grounds, this 400 m² home is generously proportioned yet effortlessly relaxed. The heated 12-metre pool stretches out in front of the house, overlooked by a raised jacuzzi* (heated to a maximum of 28°C) with its own fountain feature. There’s a natural rhythm to life here — morning swims, afternoons on a lounger with something chilled in hand, evenings gathered around the covered summer kitchen while the sky turns pink.
Inside, the mood is elegant. The main living spaces open directly onto the terraces. A large sitting room and dining area comfortably seat twelve, while a separate TV room and reading lounge offers a more intimate corner to retreat to. The kitchen is fully equipped for elaborate cooking (or hiring someone who can), with an additional pantry for extra storage. Underfloor cooling keeps the ground floor pleasantly fresh during the height of summer.
Five bedrooms are thoughtfully arranged across two levels. On the ground floor, one bedroom with a flexible super king bed opens directly onto the terrace and has its own en-suite shower room and dressing area. Upstairs, three further bedrooms are air-conditioned. The principal suite feels particularly private, with its own terrace overlooking the garden, a desk, dressing room and en-suite bathroom. Two additional double bedrooms, each with their own bath or shower room, complete the layout. Altogether, the house sleeps up to twelve guests in comfort, with plenty of space to spread out.
The interiors reflect a life well travelled — antique pieces and handcrafted finds from around the world sit comfortably alongside Provençal textures and soft, natural tones. It’s elegant without being showy, curated without feeling staged.
