Located between Nîmes and Uzès, Villa Parenthèse is a contemporary architect-designed retreat set amongst peaceful Mediterranean landscaped gardens. Just ten minutes from Nîmes and twenty minutes from Uzès, it combines refined design, generous outdoor living spaces and easy access to some of the region’s most remarkable cultural and natural sites.
Built almost entirely on one level, the villa combines crisp white façades with traditional dry-stone walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows blur the boundaries between inside and out. At its heart, a spacious living room with deep white linen sofas opens onto the terraces and pool, alongside an open-plan kitchen centred around a generous island and an indoor dining area overlooking the water.
A gallery-style corridor adorned with artworks and artisan pieces leads to the four air-conditioned bedrooms, each with direct access to the south-facing terrace. The principal suite has its own bathroom, two bedrooms offer flexible twin or king-size bedding, and the fourth, with its two extra-large bunk beds, is ideal for families. The villa sleeps up to ten guests, with a maximum of eight adults.
Outside, the 14-metre pool runs along the south façade beside a vast wooden terrace lined with sun loungers, while a Jacuzzi sits beneath the olive trees. The covered terrace, with its summer kitchen, outdoor dining area and lounge, sets the scene for long lunches and films beneath the stars thanks to an outdoor projector. An illuminated pétanque court, table tennis, hammocks and four bicycles complete the picture, and a Japanese-inspired garden offers a quieter corner for contemplation.
On the lower level of the house, a private wellness area with sauna and massage room invites guests to fully unwind. Massages, aqua gym and personal coaching can be arranged upon request, and a complimentary group fitness session is offered on the first Monday morning of each stay.
The Roman monuments of Nîmes are ten minutes away, while Uzès, its renowned market and the Pont du Gard can be reached in around twenty. Vineyards, olive groves and villages such as Collias, Castillon-du-Gard and Lussan surround the property, and the beaches of Le Grau-du-Roi and the wild landscapes of the Camargue are less than an hour’s drive.
