Description
Located between Nîmes and Uzès, Villa Parenthèse is a contemporary architect-designed retreat set amongst peaceful Mediterranean landscaped gardens. Just ten minutes from Nîmes and twenty minutes from Uzès, it combines refined design, generous outdoor living spaces, easy access to the beach, and some of the region’s most remarkable cultural and natural sites.
Built almost entirely on one level, the villa combines crisp white façades with traditional dry-stone walls. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows blur the boundaries between inside and out, creating a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere throughout.
At the heart of the house, a spacious living room furnished with deep white linen sofas opens onto the terraces and pool. The fully equipped open-plan kitchen, centred around a generous island, is complemented by a practical back kitchen equipped with laundry facilities and additional storage. A second indoor dining area allows guests to enjoy meals together throughout the season while overlooking the pool.
From the entrance hall, a long gallery-style corridor adorned with carefully selected artworks and artisan pieces leads towards the sleeping quarters.
The villa accommodates up to ten guests, with a maximum of eight adults, across four comfortable bedrooms, all equipped with air-conditioning, smart TVs, electric shutters and excellent Wi-Fi coverage thanks to dedicated routers positioned throughout the house. All bedrooms have direct access to the south facing terrace.
The principal suite features a double bed and a private bathroom with bathtub, walk-in shower and WC.
The second bedroom can be configured with either twin beds or a king-size double bed and benefits from its own shower room and WC.
The third bedroom also offers flexible twin or king-size bedding. A spacious family bathroom opposite the room includes both a bathtub and separate shower, together with double wash basins.
The fourth bedroom is ideal for families, offering a double bed (or twin beds) as well as two extra large bunk beds. It has access to a private shower room.
A separate guest WC with washbasin is conveniently located in the corridor.
Outside, the villa has been designed for long summer days spent in complete relaxation. Running along the south façade, the impressive 14-metre swimming pool stretches beside a vast wooden terrace. The pool has a flat bottom throughout, measures 14 x 4 metres with a depth of 1.40 metres, and is secured by an electric cover. It is treated with chlorine and is not heated.
Eight wooden sun loungers with comfortable mattresses are arranged around the pool, accompanied by parasols and a raised bar table that naturally becomes the gathering point for evening aperitifs.
A Jacuzzi set on the side of the pool under the olive trees, completes the outdoor wellness experience.
A large covered terrace provides shade throughout the day and benefits from a fully equipped summer kitchen with induction hob, refrigerator, coffee machine, kettle, plancha, barbecue, guest shower and WC. A spacious outdoor dining area and comfortable lounge create an inviting setting for long lunches and relaxed evenings with family and friends.
For lovers of outdoor cinema, a video projector installed in the lounge area allows guests to enjoy films beneath the stars.
Beyond the main terrace, the property offers numerous leisure facilities including an illuminated pétanque court, table tennis, hammocks, badminton equipment, traditional garden games and four bicycles available for guests.
A Japanese-inspired garden on the northern side of the property provides a peaceful contrast to the lively pool area and offers a quiet space for contemplation and relaxation.
Below the main garden, a dedicated wellness area invites guests to fully unwind. This private retreat includes a sauna, massage room and an additional single day bed (set upon request only). Private massage treatments, aqua gym sessions and personal sports coaching can be arranged upon request. Guests staying at Villa Parenthèse also enjoy a complimentary group fitness session every Monday morning.
Despite its tranquil setting, the villa is ideally positioned to discover one of France’s most fascinating regions. The magnificent Roman monuments of Nîmes are just ten minutes away, including the Arena, the Maison Carrée and the Jardins de la Fontaine. The elegant town of Uzès, with its renowned market, medieval streets and beautiful squares, can be reached in around twenty minutes.
The legendary Pont du Gard, one of the best-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world, also twenty minutes drive from the house, offers exceptional opportunities for swimming, canoeing and riverside picnics along the Gardon. The surrounding countryside is dotted with vineyards, olive groves and some of the most beautiful villages in southern France, including Collias, Castillon-du-Gard, Anduze, Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie and Lussan.
For day trips, the Mediterranean beaches of Le Grau-du-Roi and La Grande-Motte are less than an hour away, while the Camargue’s wild landscapes, flamingos and horse ranches offer a completely different side of the South of France.
Available from mid-March until mid-November, Villa Parenthèse is a refined and peaceful retreat for families and friends seeking exceptional comfort, beautiful design and easy access to the rich history, nature and gastronomy of Provence and Occitanie.
